History and origins

Construction began on 26/10/2010 as part of the development of Trúc Lâm practice centres. Buddhist records acknowledge the roles of Venerable Thích Kiến Nguyệt and architect Hoàng Đạo Kính in bringing the project into being.

Architecture & surroundings

A three-entrance gateway, steps and courtyards lead to the Great Hero Hall. The patriarch hall, bell and drum structures and practice areas follow the hillside terrain. Roof forms and materials draw on Vietnamese temple architecture.

Cultural value

The monastery helps continue the Trúc Lâm Zen tradition in Thanh Hóa. In a landscape rich in historical memory such as Hàm Rồng, it provides another place for people to learn about Buddhism and cultivate mindful living.

Events & festivals

Please ask the monastery about upcoming retreats and observances. Confirm visiting times and the programme for your intended day, and preserve the quiet needed by those practising there.
