History and origins

A Trần-period origin is transmitted in local tradition and is not a verified foundation date. The temple was completely destroyed in 1979; its main hall was completed in 1992 and its three-entrance gate in 2002. According to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, construction at residential group 27 began on 25/7/2026 and is planned to continue until 2029.

Architecture & surroundings

The former grounds had a three-entrance gate, layers of curved roofs and a Buddha hall in the Northern Buddhist tradition. The new site is planned to include a Three Jewels hall, patriarchs' hall and three-entrance gate for Buddhist study, practice and community activities. Under the plan announced in 2026, construction is scheduled to continue until 2029.

Cultural value

Tân Bảo helps connect Buddhist communities in the border region and houses the headquarters of the provincial Buddhist Executive Board. The new site is intended to support study and practice, Dharma teaching and community activities.
