History and origins
Construction began in 2015 with donations from Buddhist devotees and other community resources. In 2022, the Lạng Sơn Provincial People's Committee recognised it as a provincial tourism destination. This is a modern temple inspired by traditional architecture.
Architecture & surroundings
The complex has a three-entrance gate, courtyard, Three Jewels hall and associated shrines. Tiered tiled roofs, timber frames, dragon details and stone statues form a dignified central sequence. Vietnamese inscribed boards, parallel couplets and lettering on bricks are details noted in materials about the temple.
Cultural value
Besides serving Buddhist worship, the temple helps preserve Vietnamese architectural and linguistic identity in the border-crossing area. A space commemorating people who contributed to defending the frontier connects gratitude with local religious and cultural life.
Events & festivals
Tân Thanh Temple's festival takes place on the 9th day of the first lunar month. The 2025 festival was held on 6/2, combining incense offerings, then singing, lion dancing and the Văn Lãng Ethnic Communities Cultural Festival. Please follow temple and local announcements for each year's programme.
